As an event professional and conference organizer, I network at every opportunity in cities all around the world where tech conferences and events take place. And each time, I leave with new contacts that will help make my future planning more convenient, streamlined, and as easy as sending an email or picking up the phone. But the one thing that seems to be a constant challenge is finding new event suppliers in a city I haven’t organised a conference in. I depend on word of mouth and end up reaching out to other event organisers. On the other side of that, I get several emails per week from peers who are looking for the same in cities they know I’ve managed an event in. In that way we truly become valuable resources to each other as a network of event professionals around the world.
I also manage All The Tech Things, or AT3 for short - a website that has become home to tech conference, cfp, diversity ticket and volunteer opportunity listings. There are so many events that take place globally and I’ve tracked this information for years. Two years ago, I decided to put it all in one convenient place and the website was born.
Today, I’m excited to announce that coming November 20th, All The Tech Things is expanding to include AT3 Connections - a place for tech event organisers to connect with event suppliers all around the world! November 20th will be the soft launch of the site, with the official launch being on March 1, 2019.
AT3 Connections is a space for event suppliers to create a profile with their basic information so that organisers can easily find them when they are in need of services in a particular city. With the events space being so broad, AT3 Connections is focusing on the tech industry and seeking out suppliers that work closely with tech professionals in key cities where conferences typically take place - San Francisco, London, Dublin, New York, Berlin, and Austin….just to name a few. We want to change how organizers find suppliers and make it a fun experience for everyone along the way.
In addition to the listings, Meet & Greet events are scheduled in 2019 to bring organizers and suppliers together face-to-face to network, share ideas, brainstorm and generally leave having sparked new professional relationships. But first, keep an eye on our blog for weekly updates, supplier features, industry trends and more. Be sure to subscribe to receive our newsletter as well, to stay updated on what’s happening in the tech events space. We promise to keep it interesting and engaging and will also have guest bloggers to provide various perspectives from around the globe.
I'm pretty excited to grow this next year and hope that you’ll join us as we launch the first set of cities: London, Dublin, San Francisco, and Seattle. After our official launch in March, we’ll launch a new city each month in growing tech communities.
